1) Globie-Unfortunatley, I don't have this car, so I don't have a picture of it. Globie (labeled as WGP Globie) is the mascot of the World Grand Prix in Cars 2, and isn't an actual, living character. The diecast itself is based off of an inflatable Globie, according to his artwork. This makes him one of the weirdest, most unique picks for a diecast release, but one that really makes sense to me, especially as a Super Chase.
2) Andrew Vrooman-This is a car that really surprised me. I had no idea I would like it as much as I would when I opened it up. Andrew has a great, unique mold, complete with racing stripes molded into his model. He's a surprisingly heavy car, too.
3) Steve Hearsell-Of course Steve Hearsell made the list. He's a favorite release of many collectors, myself included. He's a release that I doubt anyone expected, especially so soon, as we only see the back of him in the Cars 3 movie, but he's a-one-of-a-kind diecast that I'm so glad was released. He's the first hearse that we've ever gotten in the cars line, and is a car that actually sold out at a bunch of my stores.
4) XRS Drag Racing Lightning McQueen-When I first saw the XRS Drag Racing line, I immediately thought that they were gimmicky cash grabs(...I guess that whole "cash grab" thing worked, though, since I bought them, but that's beyond the point). I was pleasantly surprised with this line of cars, especially the Lightning McQueen, with a paint job unique to him and lots of little additions that really make him stand out from the hundreds of other versions of the character.
5) Mater with Cone Teeth-Another car that would obviously make the list. I'm a big fan of Mater variants, and it's so great for this Mater, who has been cancelled so many times, to finally get released.
6) Wheeldell Lee-Another car I don't have, so no pictures again. Sorry. This list easily could've just been cars from the Doc's Racing Days Series, but I'm limiting myself to just two. up first, we have Wheeldell Lee, a car that I was hoping would get released, but I'm shocked he got released so soon. Wheeldell is a camera car who I'm surprised wasn't made a deluxe release.
7) Randy Lawson (and all of the other flashback racers)-Like I mentioned in the last entry, I could've made this list just cars from the flashbacks in Cars 3, because the racers in those flashbacks are all so cool, and different from one another. But, out of all of these cars, Randy Lawson is probably my favorite (and I haven't even opened him yet!). A close second would probably be "Slim" Hood, another great legend racer.
8) Metallic Cal Weathers-One again, I don't own this guy, so, no pictures here. When Metallic Lightning McQueen and Metallic Bobby Swift were released in early 2018, I kept on wondering where Metallic Cal was. Why not just complete the trio? "Where's Metallic Cal" became a big running joke on my Youtube channel for a while, and as time went by, I began to stop asking the question...but then, it happened. A Metallic Cal Weathers diecast was released at the very end of 2019. It feels like a sort of random release, especially coming out nearly two years after Metallic Lightning and Bobby, but, it's better late than never!
9) Rev-N-Go Racing Tractor-Probably my favorite 2019 release. Much like Wheeldel, the tractor-racers were cars I was hoping to get, but never expected them so soon. Three tractors were released, and of these three, the Rev-N-Go one is my favorite. The decals of the regular Next-Gen Rev-N-Go were flawlessly applied to the body of a tractor. Add a new expression, and the fact that it's a single release instead of a deluxe, and you have an incredible diecast!
10) George New-win-One of the most anticipated Next-Gens, which is ironic because George had such little screen time. The original Cars 1 Leak Less Racer was one of the first Cars diecasts ever released, so it makes sense that the Next-Gen Leak Less would be so highly anticipated. Exclusive to a five-pack only at Walmart, George New-Win (Labeled as just Leak Less No.52, his real name was revealed with his Tomica release) did not dissapoint when he was released in the Summer of 2019.

ReplyDeleteNice! My favorites have to be Globie, Metallic Marilyn, Shiny Wax Tractor, Gale Beaufort, Slim Hood, Andrew Vrooman, Kevin Racingtire, Mike Stockar, Yellow Hydraulic Ramone and Metallic Rex Revler.
ReplyDeleteAndrew vrooman is my favourite re release of the blue desert packaging, I love chevy, and I never expected mattel to release a real chevy as a diecast, his 2018 case never arribed to my local stores (as well as 75% of the 2018 releases) in spain and that made me think that I was never going to get it, but one day,in a store, the whole peg was empty, there were only some storms pegwarming the zone, and next to them, there was andrew!!! I also love steve, who also mist my local stores and I want mattel to re release him, and I havent found any deluxes from the blue desert packaging, so I hope that mater with cone teeth arribes to spain, and I found Wheeldell lee and thailand darren leadfoot, there were 3 more wheeldells in the store. I love tractors and I want mattel to re release the regular tractor.
